How to reach PlateVIN: corrections to data pages, bug reports, and privacy questions. Please do not send a VIN you want to keep private.

Write to jonathan.holmlidh@gmail.com. Say which page you are on and what you expected to see. For a figure, include a link to the NHTSA page that shows the value you believe is right. For a decoding problem, describe what the result said; a VIN is not needed to understand most problems and you should not send one you want to keep private.
What to write about
The most useful messages are one of these:
- A dimension, weight or recall on a make, model or year page that differs from NHTSA’s own page.
- A result that looks wrong, with the NHTSA message shown and the browser you use.
- A layout problem on a phone or a screen reader problem.
- A privacy or cookie question. PlateVIN keeps no VINs, so there is no VIN data on our side to export or erase; the privacy page explains what your browser holds.
What we cannot do
We cannot tell you whether a recall is open on your car, look up a vehicle’s history, or help with a repair. Use NHTSA’s VIN recall lookup and your dealer for the first, and a history report provider for the second.
